Hurricane Melissa Relief: Community-Led Disaster Relief for Jamaica
A UK-based charity supporting Jamaica’s recovery after Hurricane Melissa through fundraising, volunteering, and community-led action across East Anglia.
Our Vision
EA Jamaica Aid (East Anglia Jamaica Aid) exists to turn community solidarity into practical, ethical support for communities in Jamaica affected by disaster.
Following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, many Jamaican communities faced urgent humanitarian needs alongside long-term recovery challenges. At the same time, people across Norfolk and the wider East Anglia region wanted to help — but needed clear, trusted ways to do so.
We connect UK communities with community-led disaster relief in Jamaica, ensuring that donations, fundraising, and volunteer efforts translate into real, tangible impact.
We organise fundraising initiatives and charity events across East Anglia, including live music, raffles, and community gatherings. These events raise vital funds to support Jamaica disaster relief and long-term recovery.
Fundraising & Community Events
Financial donations and essential goods play a critical role in disaster recovery efforts. We coordinate the collection of financial donations and essential supplies, ensuring support reaches Jamaica through trusted partner organisations.
Donate & Provide Practical Aid
East Anglia Jamaica Aid is powered by volunteers. We recruit and support people across Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge, and the wider East Anglia region, helping communities work together in solidarity with Jamaica.
